WOOD-003 Individual Part Rules – Hon. Charles D. Wood, J.S.C. 124 NY-SC-9JD-WOOD CONFERENCES Conferences Preliminary Conferences held virtually on Wednesday mornings at 9:30 a.m. by Law Clerk. Parties may submit preliminary conference stipulation at least 2 days before scheduled conference; if so-ordered, conference is cancelled. First Compliance Conference approximately 150 days prior to last date of discovery. Counsel required to confer prior to compliance conference; if agreed on discovery schedule, submit stipulation signed by counsel and upload to NYSCEF before conference. Adjournments of compliance conferences only for good cause per 22 NYCRR §202.10; request uploaded to NYSCEF and all parties. Parties must appear for conference unless Court confirms rescheduling. Wood, J.S.C. 124 NY-SC-9JD-WOOD NOTE-OF-ISSUE Note of Issue/Summary Judgment Motions Once discovery complete or deemed waived, Court shall issue Trial Readiness Order. Alternatively, parties may request issuance without compliance conference by submitting signed Trial Readiness Stipulation & Order. Pursuant to Trial Readiness Order, plaintiff shall file and serve Note of Issue and Certificate of Readiness within 20 days. Applications to vacate Note of Issue per 22 NYCRR §202.21. Wood, J.S.C. 124 NY-SC-9JD-WOOD TRIAL-PRACTICE Trial Practice Rules Pre-Trial Conference immediately prior to commencement of hearing or trial; counsel must provide marked pleadings, estimated trial length, witness list, motions in limine, and other issues relevant to trial. Verdict sheet jointly prepared by counsel; if no agreement, each side submits proposed verdict sheet preferably on flash drive in Microsoft Word. Copies of transcripts to be read as evidence-in-chief must be provided to Court and all counsel in advance.
