Sokoloff (Guardianship) 48 NY-SC-1JD-SOKOLOFF 3 Court Evaluator Duties The court evaluator (CE) shall: interview the AIP and all interested parties in the presence of counsel; promptly notify the Court if the AIP wants a different attorney; promptly notify the Court if an interpreter is required; promptly notify the court of any pending Landlord/Tenant proceeding; immediately apply to the court for restraining orders if the AIP or property is in danger; assess the AIP's financial status, physical and mental status, and condition of place of residence; provide a report to the Court via email at least 2 business days before the hearing. The report shall be a comprehensive view of the case with a recommendation. Sensitive personal information must be redacted.
